Kim has served as a lawyer in the Illinois Court of Appeals for 18 years, resolving complex civil and criminal appeals. She also serves on the board of the Appellate Lawyers Association of Illinois. After moving to Chicago in 2006, Kim led the Chicago Indie Rock Fans meetup and attended classes at the Old Town School of Folk Music. She continues to listen to a variety of genres and occasionally plays music as well. An avid reader, she can usually be found with a book in her hand.

Kim identifies as a lifelong learner and appreciates the value of education in her life. Through Girls Supporting Girls, she welcomes the opportunity to bestow that value on other girls.
